Three projects are running, each on a question that argument alone cannot settle. All three depend on contributions, and all three will be published whatever they find.

The Animodar project

Testing an ancient rectification method against charts whose birth times are accurately recorded. The method makes a numerical claim, which makes it one of the few rectification techniques that can be tested at all. We need birth times with a documented source.

The house system poll

Which house division practitioners actually use, and why they chose it. The literature argues the question on principle; nobody has asked what people do in practice, or what decided them.

The term tables poll

Egyptian, Ptolemaic, or another — which table of terms practitioners use, and what decided them. A comparative table is available to download.

Why polls

Because a technique's standing in the literature and its standing in practice are different things, and the gap is worth measuring. When the sources disagree — as they do on both houses and terms — what practitioners have settled on, and why, is evidence about which version survives contact with real work.
